ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSISTANT
£25,000 - £30,000

One of our amazing, global, award-winning media clients has a vacancy for an Accounts Payable Assistant.

Based in beautiful offices, in north west London, they are looking for an outgoing, confident and eager Accounts Payable Assistant to start ASAP.

You will be key in the running of an efficient Accounts Payable system and act as support of the Group Accounts Payable Manager and other Finance staff.

Your hours will be 9am- 5:30pm and the salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience.

Cutting to the chase, here are the major details.

Role:

  • Obtaining invoice authorisation, coding (job, overheads and inter-group transactions), inputting of invoices into accounting software and obtaining/dealing with credits as appropriate

  • Ensuring that supplier accounts are correctly set up with regards currency, address/email, telephone number, bank details etc

  • Allocation of overhead invoices via matrix

  • Preparation of payment runs on a bi-monthly basis

  • Raising payments: automated cheques, imported files and manual currency payments from accounting software to RBS, Barclays and HSBC banking internet software

  • Ensuring that payments are authorised according to mandate on timely basis

  • Ensure that suppliers are paid in line with payment terms

  • Ensuring that print and paper suppliers invoices are processed so that early settlement discount can be taken

  • Ensuring supplier statements are reconciled on a monthly basis resolving differences (individual creditors are split for volume of accounts responsibility)

  • Invoices Mailbox administration

  • Ensuring that Purchase Daybooks are run on a weekly basis

  • Ad-hoc duties as requested

Ideal candidate:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount

  • Structured and well organised

  • Understanding of double entry/basic accounting principles and Job Costing

  • Have used integrated accounting software

  • Working use of excel

  • Able to achieve deadlines and carry out instructions as appropriate

  • Pride in their work

  • Able to prioritise and deal with requests internally and externally

  • Initiative

  • Stability and support for the Finance Team

  • Ability to fit in with the Company culture and employees
